The Banquet was prepared by Dublin’s Mitchelin Starred Chapter One restaurant. Visit the website to find out more.

Jack receives two special honors
At the start of 2011 Jack McCarthy received the accolade Bridgestone Man of the Year and a few months later was declared Local Food Hero at the Irish Restaurant awards. As the Local Food Hero was voted for by the Irish public it made Jack particularly proud. He received rapturous applause from the food industry representatives at the ceremony, showing his popularity with his peers as well as the public.
Taste of Cork
Tim had a busy time at the Taste of Cork Festival last weekend. With a key position stand and 20,000 patrons, he was show-casing the celebration boudin produced for the Queen’s visit. Seamus O’Connell of the Ivory Tower and Pascal Sheehy were amongst the many pudding tasters at the event.
West Cork Food Fair
WEst Cork Food Fair is the oldest food festival in Ireland and was started in the early 80s by Val Manning, of Manning’s Emporium in Ballylickey. It has been instrumental in pioneering artisan irish food, Bridgestone call it Ireland’s most important food festival, and is now bigger and better than ever. Peter Ward of Country choice, Darina and Tim Allen and Carmel Summers were all there enjoying the gastronomic delights. The event was filmed for RTE Nationwide and the footage was shown last night.
