McCarthy’s of Kanturk has once again been recognised on the national stage, picking up multiple honours at the 2024 Blas na hÉireann Irish Food Awards – Ireland’s premier celebration of local food and drink.
With over 130 years of tradition, McCarthy’s remains a benchmark of quality in Irish butchery. This year’s awards are a proud reflection of that legacy – and the innovation that continues to define their work.
🏅 Gold – Spiced Beef
A standout favourite, our richly flavoured Spiced Beef won Gold in the Cured Meat, Charcuterie – Beef category.
🥉 Bronze – Smoked Back Rashers
Our traditionally smoked, perfectly balanced Smoked Back Rashers took Bronze in the Bacon – Rashers Smoked category.
🏅 Finalist – Butchers Pork Sausages
Our classic Butchers Pork Sausages were recognised as a Finalist in the Sausages – Pork Sausages category.
McCarthy’s were also honoured with the prestigious Irish Butchers’ Guild Award at this year’s event.
